He states that knowledge can only be created by the usage of power. He expresses that for someone to make a statement that they believe is true, that they are utilizing power. Foucault argues that this power is connected to knowledge. This use of power is seen today, through the world in various institutions. ![]() In other words, how to make someone that is essentially free, do something they would not necessarily do otherwise. ![]() Power is the way in which, one may affect another’s actions. ![]() Physical actions would include violence and force, as seen in earlier penal systems. He defines power as something that does not affect another physically.
